Just a rundown

Some of you follow my other blog which has to do with Call of Duty: Black Ops strategies. And since people like that one so much i wanted to do something more relateable to everyone in the gaming world. I urge you guys to comment and ask questions.

For my first discussion I want to talk about the possibility of a Resident Evil 6 and whether or not you think it could resurrect the franchise. It seems to be a trend that every second game in the franchise is a huge hit,  Resident Evil 4 won game of the year. I love the action elements from the previous two titles, but I want to be scared again. I want a arm to pop through the wall and grab me. I want crows to attack me out of nowhere or a dog to jump out of a window. I haven't felt that since Resident Evil 2 and that was one of the things that made me fall in love with the game. The filler titles are amusing but barely have anything to do with the core value of the game so I don't really even hold them in the same regard.

I think limiting my movement space would help bring that back. If you remember in the first 2 titles could never really run away, you had to react fast and think on your feet. The limited space made you fight panic and absorb information quickly. I really like the way they split the first two stories in the RE and RE2 and would like to see them develop the story like that again. The idea that you helped each other out the entire time was always really cool to me. Especially RE2 I loved the way the blended the stories together and how eveything worked out in the game.

Those are a few things I think could make it better and I can"t wait to hear what you guys have to say.

  1. Although I agree that RE 5 didn't touch the same heights as RE 4 which is probably one of the best survival horror game, but RE 5 was a great action game and I personally enjoyed it. I hope RE 6 goes back to the franchise roots and brings back the survival horror element.

  2. Oh don't get me wrong, I liked are RE5 a lot and played through it more than once. I just want to see if they can take what made them great to start with and what makes them great now and combine them.

  3. I played bits and pieces of RE 4, and from what I could gather, it seemed pretty interesting. Never could get well into the "horror" genres, though, I can't handle scary things. :P

Love the blog! Will follow and check out your Black Ops site too:

  4. Even though RE4 is from the last generation of games it was really a breakthrough in both graphics (so it still looks pretty) and survival horror game play. If you like action games, and 3rd person shooters it will fulfill that need for a good 10 to 15 hours for one go through the entire game.

  5. I don't know. The RE series has never really been THAT amazing. It's a very well made series, but I don't know, I just can't get into it.

  6. I could go on about the RE series forever! I can credit my being a gamer to RE2. I can't count how many times I played through that game. I hope that you will like some of the other stuff that I'll be posting soon!

  7. Personally, I never really fell in love with the Resident Evil Series. I played RE and RE 2 but after those, I just felt as if I was being let down with RE 3 so I stopped playing the series altogether.

Though it is refreshing to see such optimism surrounding something I've abandoned, makes me want to give the others in the series a shot.

  8. I really don't blame you, RE3 was a huge let down for all of us fans. We all expected something new and edgy and all we got was the same thing but poorly done. What other game franchises have you givin up on over the years?
